A labour dispute between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) could have a negative impact on mail delivery throughout the summer, suggested the union’s national president.
Mike Palecek, CUPW national president, told NewsTalk 1010 Canada Post is headed towards a lockout as early as July. Palecek accused Canada Post management of insisting on major cuts to pensions and benefits as the two sides engage in negotiations.
