Kelowna is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the opening of the William R. Bennett Bridge, which connects Kelowna to West Kelowna across Lake Okanagan.
At 690 metres, the five-lane structure is Canada’s longest pontoon bridge and rests on nine pontoons.
PICTURE POSTAGE
To commemorate this occasion, Canada Post printed a Picture Postage stamp, and the Kelowna and District Stamp Club created a cover as well as a postcard. The club previously commemorated the initial opening of the bridge in 2008 as well as its five-year anniversary in 2013.
