Canada Post’s 10-stamp Canada 150 set takes to the sky on Boeing 767

Earlier this week, Canada Post and Cargojet were joined by ace Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday by launching 10 unforgettable moments in Canada’s past 50 years on a Boeing 767-300AF.

The event was held on June 20 in Hamilton at the Cargojet Hangar, where the 10-stamp Canada 150 set issued by Canada Post earlier this spring was adorned to the massive Boeing 767.

“Cargojet is very excited to partner with Canada Post on celebrating Canada’s 150th milestone. We are thrilled to be honouring our nation’s birthday and will be proudly displaying these stamp images on our aircraft,” said Dr. Ajay K. Virmani, Cargojet president and CEO. “These images are representative of Canada’s diverse culture and history and we are proud to participate in this celebration.”

Cargojet is Canada’s leading provider of time sensitive overnight air cargo services and carries abut 580,000 kilograms of cargo each business night. Cargojet operates its network across North America using a fleet of all-cargo aircraft.

The plane is adorned with the designs of the 10 ‘Canada 150’ stamps issued this spring by Canada Post.

“To celebrate Canada 150, Canada Post has showcased 10 unforgettable moments from the past 50 years through our iconic national stamp program,” said Deepak Chopra, president and CEO of Canada Post. “We’re excited to team up with Cargojet to share these stamps, and the incredible stories behind them, with as many Canadians as possible.”

Stroman, who was born in Brookhaven, N.Y., said playing baseball and living in Canada has allowed him to “experience what a great nation Canada is.”

“I am honoured to be part of Canada’s 150th celebrations with two great Canadian companies, Cargojet and Canada Post,” he added.
