The North Toronto Stamp Club (NTSC) has announced the launch of a new club-level exhibiting initiative to debut at its 2026 Annual Exhibition, held in conjunction with the National Postage Stamp and Coin Show in Mississauga.
The Garfield Portch Ontario Club Single Frame Competition will recognize both the exhibiting achievements of local collectors and the legacy of a veteran Toronto philatelist. A longtime exhibitor and a respected member of the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Foundation board, Portch has been a fixture in the Canadian philatelic community for decades. The new competition is designed to foster friendly rivalry among Ontario-based stamp clubs and promote greater participation in one-frame exhibiting.
Open to all Ontario philatelic clubs affiliated with the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, the annual contest will invite each club to submit three single-frame exhibits, each consisting of 16 pages or the equivalent. Clubs with more than three participants may determine which entries to put forward. Judges will evaluate the exhibits, with the club earning the highest combined score taking home the top honours.
The winning club will host the trophy for six months before it returns to the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Foundation in Toronto, where it will remain on display until the next competition.
The 2026 NTSC Annual Exhibition will take place April 11-12 at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale. Full competition guidelines and entry details will be announced in early 2026.
