BNAPEX registration deadline Sept. 1 as Montreal tour gets new date

Collectors planning to attend BNAPEX 2026 have only a few days remaining to complete their convention registration, while organizers are giving participants another opportunity to take part in a full-day guided tour of Montreal.

The British North America Philatelic Society convention will be held Sept. 17-20 in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que., with Sept. 1 set as the final registration deadline. Those planning to attend are being reminded to complete their registration and submit their activity and meal selections, including for the Friday dinner and Saturday Awards Banquet.

Meanwhile, organizers have moved the Montreal Guided Tour from Thursday to Friday, Sept. 18, after insufficient registrations were received for the original date. Several BNAPS members had indicated they could not participate Thursday because of scheduled meetings, prompting organizers to give the tour another opportunity on Friday.

Renowned guide Thom Seivewright will lead the full-day bilingual tour, taking participants through Montreal’s neighbourhoods while exploring the city’s history and architecture. At least 12 participants are required for the tour to proceed, and organizers are encouraging those who were interested but unable to attend on Thursday to consider the new Friday date.

Beyond the tour, BNAPEX is shaping up to be a busy four-day gathering. Twenty-one dealers and philatelic businesses are expected to participate, providing collectors with an opportunity to search for material and meet dealers from across the hobby.

The convention will also feature a major national-level competitive exhibition and more than 25 seminars, meetings and activities, along with society meetings, special philatelic presentations and the Saturday Awards Banquet. Special BNAPEX material will include limited-quantity labels and uncut sheets, airmail material, commemorative covers, souvenir envelopes and four different show cancellations.

The official opening ceremony is scheduled for approximately 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, with federal Member of Parliament Claude DeBellefeuille participating.

With the Sept. 1 registration deadline approaching, organizers are encouraging collectors who plan to attend BNAPEX — and particularly those interested in helping make the Montreal tour a go — to complete their registrations as soon as possible. Complete convention information and registration details are available at BNAPS.org.
