Calle designs limited Boston 2026 cachet set

A limited-edition series of eight official cachets for Boston 2026 World Expo has been created by award-winning artist and stamp designer Chris Calle, with each design tied to a daily show theme and capped at 400 serviced covers.

Calle, who has produced cachets for numerous U.S. national and international exhibitions, developed one design for each day’s pictorial postmark. The opening day design marks the 250th anniversary of the United States with a portrait of Thomas Jefferson layered over a 13-star flag and the Declaration of Independence. Other themes include Sports Day, where a soccer player is depicted mid-play against a colourful, painterly background.

Unserviced cachets are priced at $2 each, while serviced covers bearing the daily stamp issue and corresponding pictorial postmark are $5. A complete set of eight covers is available for $30. All serviced covers are issued as numbered editions, limited to 400 per design.

The cachets are offered in partnership with the American First Day Cover Society and will be available at booths 18, 19 and 20 in the Americas Pavilion. Calle is expected to attend daily autograph sessions, signing show covers, postage stamps and other philatelic items from his career.

All options are available online for pre-sale mail ordering and can be viewed exclusively on the AFDCS Marketplace website at https://afdcs.org/Newly-Added, which also features the society’s complete line of covers. Mail orders, with payment by cheque payable to AFDCS, may be sent to AFDCS Sales, Box 44, Annapolis Junction, MD 20701-0044. Orders will be fulfilled after June 1.

Boston 2026 World Expo runs May 23 to 30, 2026, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Further details are available at Boston2026.org and through the show’s social media channels, including Facebook, X and Instagram, where collectors can also sign up for email updates.
