The British Empire Study Group (BESG) will host a free online webinar, “Let’s Talk Scott Catalog,” with Scott Stamp LLC president and CEO Jay Bigalke on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. ET.
The session will explore the recent changes involving the Scott catalogue and Linn’s Stamp News plus what collectors can expect from the new owner, Scott Stamp LLC.
Bigalke, a lifelong collector and award-winning editor, recently became a partner in Scott Stamp LLC alongside fellow philatelist David Fritz. The newly formed, collector-owned company acquired the Scott Catalogue, Linn’s Stamp News and associated brands from Amos Media Co., returning these cornerstone hobby publications to collector ownership for the first time in decades. The Scott catalogue traces its roots to 1868, when dealer and auctioneer John Walter Scott issued the first edition; it passed through several hands, including the Harmer family and Amos Press, before the latest transition to Scott Stamp LLC.
During the webinar, Bigalke will discuss the current state of the Scott catalogue, recent developments following the acquisition and potential future directions for the catalogue and related publications. Participants are encouraged to send questions in advance, and a live Q&A will follow the main presentation. A “spirited” social session is planned after the formal program.
The event will be held via Zoom, with registration required to receive the access link and optional calendar reminder. Those who register but cannot attend live will receive information about accessing a recording afterward. The webinar will feature computer-aided closed captioning plus automated caption translation into several languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch and simplified Chinese.

The program is free and open to all collectors, and BESG members and non-members alike are invited to attend and share details with interested friends and club members. More information about the British Empire Study Group and its activities is available on the group’s website and Facebook page.
