The American Philatelic Research Library (APRL) has updated its David Straight Memorial Philatelic Union Catalog, which contains records for books, journals, catalogues and other holdings from more than a dozen of the world’s top philatelic libraries.
Using the Philatelic Union Catalog, users can search for items to borrow or buy and use the journal article index for research.
“This major upgrade to the David L. Straight Philatelic Union Catalog facilitates powerful searches. Your research will uncover much more content than previously possible,” Gary Loew, the editor of The American Philatelist and former director of expertizing with the American Philatelic Expertizing Service, tweeted on Jan. 27.
The APRL, which houses more than 23,000 book titles and 5,700 journal titles, is just one of 13 libraries included in the Philatelic Union Catalog. Toronto’s Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation is also included in the online listing, which is found at bit.ly/3rx8H66.
David Straight, the Philatelic Union Catalog namesake, was a prolific writer and researcher who authored more than 250 articles before his 2012 death.
