The American Philatelic Society (APS) has confirmed CSN will host a Stamp Chat episode later this year.
On Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. (ET), CSN reporter Jesse Robitaille will present “A Brief History of Philatelic Journalism.” The virtual event will be held via Zoom with simultaneous livestreams on Facebook and YouTube. To register, click here.

Since the pandemic began, the APS has hosted more than 100 virtual Stamp Chats with speakers from around the world, including several from Canada.
UPCOMING STAMP CHATS
Today from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. (ET), Vancouver collector Ed Kroft, the president of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, will host a Stamp Chat episode highlighting uncommon destinations for mail sent from Palestine between December 1917 and May 1948, when Britain’s Colonial Office announced the end of the League of Nations’ Mandate for Palestine and the World Zionist Organization unveiled the Israeli Declaration of Independence.

Kroft, a frequent writer and exhibitor, is also the past president of the Society of Israel Philatelists (SIP), a more than 1,700-member group focusing on Israeli philately with several worldwide chapters, including in Canada. Late last year, he won the SIP’s Dr. Leopold Dickstein Memorial Award, which recognizes “excellence” in the society’s print and digital publications, including The Israel Philatelist, its quarterly journal.
After Kroft, Alberta’s Joel Weiner is the next Canadian speaker on the Stamp Chat docket. On March 17, he will join Behruz Nassre, Larry Fillion, Liz Hisey and Ross Jones on an international panel discussion and open forum looking at online exhibiting and the future of philately.
