A number of national-level stamp shows are scheduled throughout the remainder of the year, beginning with next month’s 88th Convention of The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC).
Hosted by the Kitchener-Waterloo Philatelic Society, this year’s RPSC Convention will be held Aug. 19-21 at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex on 101 Father David Bauer Dr. in Waterloo, Ont. The show is slated to feature 25 dealers from across Canada and abroad as well as nearly 150 frames of competitive exhibits. Admission and parking is free.
This Sept. 16-18 is Novapex 2016, a national- and regional-level stamp exhibition and bourse sponsored by the Nova Scotia Stamp Club. The show, to be held at Dartmouth Sportplex on 110 Wyse Rd. in Dartmouth, N.S., will feature more than 150 frames of competitive exhibits as well as an extensive bourse. Admission and parking are free.
This year’s British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS) convention—known as BNAPEX—is being hosted by the Fredericton District Stamp Club this Sept. 30-Oct. 2. To be held at the Fredericton Inn on 1315 Regent St. in Fredericton, N.B., the show offers free parking and admission.
Lastly, on Oct. 15-16, the Middlesex Stamp Club is hosting Canpex 2016 at The Hellenic Community Centre on 133 Southdale Rd. W. in London, Ont. The show will feature 30 dealers; 150 frames of competitive exhibits; a lunch counter; and free parking.
Each year, Canpex recognizes a significant event or milestone in local history. For 2016, it’s Sir Frederick Banting—the co-founder of insulin—whose 125th birthday is this year.
