Two Ontario philatelists, Gregg Redner and Clayton Rubec, have been elected fellows of the Royal Philatelic Society London (RPSL).
They are among 32 philatelists worldwide to receive the prestigious honour, further cementing Canada’s strong presence in the global philatelic community. Redner is serving his second year as president of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada.
Founded in 1869, the RPSL is one of the world’s most esteemed philatelic organizations, and earning a fellowship reflects exceptional contributions to the field. Nominations for fellowship are open to all members and are reviewed by a committee before receiving final approval by the RPSL’s council. The committee evaluates candidates based on key criteria, including service to the society through volunteering or presenting displays and papers, noteworthy contributions to philately at large, and the publication of articles in the London Philatelist and other recognized journals, as well as books.
Redner and Rubec join a distinguished list of Canadians who have earned this international recognition over the years. Their election as fellows highlights not only their dedication to the hobby but also the thriving state of philately in Canada.
