The Week in Shows (July 10-16)

This Saturday, July 16 is the monthly Burloak Stamp Fair, held at Burlington, Ont.’s Seniors’ Centre on 2285 New St.

The show – a regular monthly gathering for the past 19 years – is slated to feature upwards of 10 dealers buying and selling a range of philatelic material from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

U.S. SHOWS

Also later this week, from July 15-17, is the 2016 Minnesota Stamp Expo, hosted by the Twin City Philatelic Society; Lake Minnetonka Stamp Club; Maplewood Stamp Club; and Minnesota Stamp Dealers Association.

This year’s expo, which is part of the American Philatelic Society (APS) World Series of Philately, is being held at Minneapolis’ Crystal Community Center, about six hours south of Thunder Bay. More than 20 U.S. dealers and four philatelic societies, includingthe German Philatelic Society, will be attending. And keeping with this year’s theme of “Celebrating the Classics,” the show will offer an APS On the Road course, entitled “200 Years’ German Philately: More Than Just Stamps.”
