The Week in Shows (April 8-14)

Update: The Northeastern Antique, Collectible and Nostalgia Show, which was slated to take place today, has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience.

There are eight major shows on the docket this week.

First up is the final day of the National Postage Stamp and Coin Show, which is being held at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale on 6750 Mississauga Rd. in Mississauga, Ont. The show will be open today from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission and parking are both free. The show boasts a 47-dealer bourse, a combined coin and stamp auction, a world-class competitive philatelic exhibition and two high-profile seminars.

ABBOTSFORD, B.C.

Also taking place today is Ampex, which is being hosted by the Fraser Valley Philatelic Club at W.J. Mouat Secondary School on 32355 Mouat Dr. in Abbotsford, B.C. The show will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m and feature an extensive bourse, a range of exhibits and free admission and parking.

NUPHILEX

Later this week, on April 13-15, Nuphilex will be held at Complex EVO on 420 Sherbrooke St. W. in Montreal, Qué. The combined coin and stamp show will be open on April 13-14 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and on April 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $5 on April 13-14 and free on April 15. Early bird admission is $25 beginning on April 13 at 8 a.m. Proceeds will be be donated to Quebec Autism Society and Miriam Home.

MONCTON, N.B.

On April 14, the Moncton Stamp Fair will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on 100 War Veterans Ave. in Moncton, N.B. The show will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission and parking are free.

ST. CATHARINES, ONT.

The Best Western Stamp Show will also be held on April 14 at the Best Western Hotel in St. Catharines, Ont. Sponsored by Roy’s Stamps, the show will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and boasts free admission and parking.

WATERLOO, ONT.

On April 14, the Kitchener-Waterloo Stampfest will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on 22 Willow St. in Waterloo, Ont. Hosted by the Kitchener-Waterloo Philatelic Society, the show boasts more than 15 dealers and free admission.

QUÉBEC CITY

On April 14-15, Postalia Printemps will be held at the Centre des Loisirs Ulric-Turcotte on 35 rue Vachon in Québec City, Qué. The show will include more than 25 dealers, and admission and parking are free.

BURNABY, B.C.

Also on April 14-15 is the Coins, Stamps and Collectibles Show, which will be held at the Nikkei Centre on 6688 Southoaks Cres. in Burnaby, B.C. Hosted by the North Shore Numismatic Society, the show will be open on April 14 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and on April 15 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The bourse will feature 40 tables of stamps, coins, banknotes, tokens, medals, postcards, art, pins and more. Free underground parking is available on site, and admission is $2 each day or $3 for both days (or free for children aged 16 and under if accompanied by an adult).
