Printing error on QEII coronation stamp

Canada Post has confirmed some of its recently issued Queen Elizabeth II coronation stamp booklets contained a printing error.

On “a very small number” of the booklets of 10 stamps, the stamps were printed on the wrong side of the paper and will not stick to an envelope, according to the Crown corporation.

Importantly, some of these stamps have apparently made their way into collectors’ hands: “If a customer does have a booklet with these stamps, we ask they return to the postal outlet where they were purchased to receive a refund,” said media relations manager Phil Legault, who added there was no recall of the booklets. “We apologize to our customers. We are addressing the situation to ensure this does not happen again.”
