Oxfam’s popular stamp auction opens Feb. 1

Oxfam Stamp Program’s first auction of 2024, Mailbid 31, opens Feb. 1 and closes on March 1.

Oxfam’s Bill Woodley says it is the largest auction to date, with 840 lots, most of which are estimated to sell for between $10 and $100. An example is Lot 323: Canada F3, the blue 8-cent Registration stamp, Mint (regummed) with an estimate of $80.

For more details, email Woodley at stamps@oxfam.ca. Scans will soon be available on the Oxfam Stamp Program’s Facebook page.

For more than 35 years, Oxfam Canada volunteers have been raising funds by collecting donated stamps and envelopes, and sorting and selling stamps to collectors. In 2021 alone, the Stamp Out Poverty program raised nearly $30,000 for Oxfam’s COVID-19 response around the world, with a focus on the needs of women and girls.
