Sam Chiu, the past president of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC), fondly recalled his six-year term on the long-running organization’s board.
“It has been an honour and a privilege for me to serve on The RPSC board,” Chiu, who resigned from the helm during the RPSC’s virtual annual general meeting (AGM) on June 11, wrote in his final President’s Message in the RPSC’s June newsletter.
“Like many things in life, there is always a ‘best-before’ date for a tour of duty. I am happy to leave the board now seeing there are two women directors and also two 30-something-year-old directors,” added Chiu, who noted one of the younger directors is CSN reporter Jesse Robitaille. “The diversity and younger directors are what the board and our society need. The board is in good hands and is heading in a very positive direction.”
More than 70 people attended the AGM, on which CSN provides full coverage starting on the cover of the upcoming issue (Vol. 48 #6, July 4, 2023).
