The Oregon Stamp Society (OSS) is inviting philatelists from far and wide to celebrate its centennial anniversary by taking a tour “around the world and back to Oregon” with a unique exhibition at Portland Library.
Held now until Aug. 21 in the library’s third-floor Collins Gallery on 801 SW 10th Ave. in Portland, Ore. (about eight hours south of Surrey, B.C.), the “Stamps: Pathways to Our World” exhibition showcases stamp collecting through a variety of exhibits.
“Each stamp gives us an insight into a country’s history, geography and culture,” said organizers. “At the same time, we can also gain an appreciation of it intrinsically, as a work of art.”
