New stamp dictionary speaks collectors’ language

Collectors now have a fresh, all-Canadian reference to help decode the language of philately. Trajan Publishing has released its Illustrated Philatelic Dictionary, a nearly 100-page, full-colour softcover book packed with terms both traditional and modern—available now at CoinStampSupplies.com.

Written, edited, designed, and printed entirely in Canada, the dictionary includes hundreds of essential terms, detailed definitions, historical context, and cross-references. The project was led by long-time Canadian Stamp News contributor Ian Robertson and reflects decades of hobby experience and research.

“This project fills a real gap,” said CSN editor and Trajan Publishing owner Mike Walsh. “It’s been over 50 years since a Canadian stamp dictionary was published, and this one brings the terminology into the modern collecting era.”
