Stamp Talks and Stamp Panels, presented by the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC), will continue in 2024 thanks to a new sponsorship agreement with Longley Auctions.
Launched during the pandemic, the talks and panels have become a hub for collectors across Canada and beyond. Covering a range of topics of interest to beginning and experienced collectors, the RPSC draws it speakers from across the philatelic community. “In planning our 2024 offerings, we are covering topics as diverse as stamp design, eclipses, cartophilately, U.S. grill stamps, exhibiting, and resources such as the Harry Sutherland Philatelic Library,” says Jane Sodero, the RPSC’s vice-president.
Founded in 2000, Longley Auctions is a public auction firm owned and operated by Bill Longley, who began collecting stamps as a child and became a part-time dealer in his late teens.
Longley Auctions specializes in Canadian material, particularly postal history, but routinely sells large worldwide collections. In addition, Longley Auctions has a retail sales division and is regularly in attendance at large Canadian shows.
“I am pleased to support the RPSC Stamp Talks/Panels program as it brings collectors together to share philatelic knowledge and attract new collectors,” says Longley.
RPSC president Gregg Redner adds, “We are happy that our Stamp Talks and Stamp Panels will continue with sponsorship from Longley Auctions. These online sessions continue to be a link to the wider philatelic community for many collectors.”
