New Issue: Isle of Man issues overprinted miniature sheet celebrating Canada 150

Earlier this year, in honour of the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation, the Isle of Man Post Office issued an overprint of its Sapphire Anniversary of HM Queen miniature sheet, which was originally issued on Feb. 6.

The Canada 150 overprint, which was released July 1, features the Canada 150 logo alongside a black-and-white £3.75 stamp showing Queen Elizabeth II being presented with the horse “Burmese” by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1969. There stamp also depicts a statue of the Queen riding Burmese at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina, Sask.

“We are pleased to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday as an independent nation with this special overprint miniature sheet,” said Maxine Cannon, Isle of Man Stamps & Coins general manager.
