The Institute for Analytical Philately (IAP) will hold its fifth international symposium online this October with two days of virtual presentations from the hobby’s top scientific minds.
Originally planning to host the symposium in person, IAP officials decided to mirror its 2020 symposium with all speakers virtually delivering their papers.
“This will allow us to admit more participants than if we held the meetings in person,” according to a statement issued by the IAP this summer.
Both symposium sessions, slated for Oct. 10 and Oct. 17 with five speakers each, will begin at 10 a.m. (ET). Most presentations will explore aspects of colour in philately, including using Raman micro spectrometry, colour analyses of various stamps, video spectral comparator analyses and more.
“While several presentations are technical in nature, most of them should be understandable by non-scientists.”
