The Harry Sutherland Philatelic Library (HSPL) at Toronto’s Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation will soon re-open its doors to the public for one Saturday a month.
The HSPL is renowned for its collection of British North American reference material – widely considered the world’s best – plus its collection of early Canadian philatelic journals, auction catalogues, exhibition prospectuses and research collections.
“We are going to be having a trial run of open days on the second Saturday of the month until the end of the year,” said librarian Willow Moonbeam, who added the HSPL will be open by appointment on Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
To book an appointment, contact Lee Ann Stewart, the Greene Foundation’s executive assistant, at info@greenefoundation.ca. Requests must be made by the Thursday before the day you wish to visit the library, which is closed on Fridays.
“Please mask and maintain distance while in the library,” added Moonbeam. “You will be asked to sign in to keep track of usage on these days. We will evaluate the program before the end of the year.”
