The Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation is marking its 50th anniversary this summer with a special event, A Day of Philately, set to take place on Sat., July 19, 2025, at the historic Campbell House Museum in downtown Toronto.
Running from 2 to 8 p.m., the event offers an afternoon and evening of philatelic programming, displays, and socializing, bringing together collectors and scholars from across Canada. The day begins with a lecture by Alexander Haimann, FRPSL, titled Exploring the Contours of Context Philately. Throughout the afternoon, attendees can view a variety of philatelic displays prepared by members of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada.
A cocktail hour follows, leading into the main event: the 10th edition of the Harry Sutherland Philatelic Lecture. This year’s featured speaker is David R. Beech, MBE, FRPSL, who presents Philatelic Libraries: The Final Frontier. Tickets are available in advance for $20 per person and must be purchased ahead of time.
