CAS wins vermeil in StampShow literature competition

The Canadian Aerophilatelic Society (CAS) recently won a vermeil medal at the American Philatelic Society (APS) StampShow in Richmond, Va.

The CAS’ quarterly journal, The Canadian Aerophilatelist, was one of three electronic publications awarded at the annual StampShow. The Canadian Aerophilatelist is available as both a print and online edition. About 40 CAS members receive an electronic copy of The Canadian Aerophilatelist while 100 members still receive the print copy through the mail.

The jury included Chief Judge Peter P. McCann, of Florida; Nancy Clark, of Massachusetts; Peter Martin, of Virginia; and apprentice William DiPaolo, also of Florida.

The CAS, which is Chapter 187 of The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, is only a few months away from having all the information compiled for its forthcoming revised catalogue. The forthcoming catalogue is a revised edition of The Air Mails of Canada and Newfoundland, which was a joint effort by the CAS and the American Air Mail Society (AAMS) originally published in 1997.
