Canada Post is set to honour renowned Canadian singer-songwriter and musician Sarah McLachlan with the unveiling of a new commemorative stamp on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
McLachlan, a Grammy and JUNO award-winning artist, has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. Known for her distinctive blend of pop and folk, she has created hits such as Building a Mystery and Angel. Her contributions to music earned her a place in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2017 and the distinction of being appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999.
The unveiling will take place at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, located at 138 E 7th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. PT, and the event will begin at 4 p.m. In attendance will be McLachlan, Doug Ettinger, CEO and president of Canada Post, and Emily Oswald, director of development at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. Founded by McLachlan in 2002, the school provides inclusive and barrier-free music education to children and youth.
This special event celebrates McLachlan’s enduring impact on music and her commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
