Canada Post has announced the reinstatement of on-time service guarantees and a return to full service levels for domestic parcels as of Jan. 6, 2025.
In a statement, Canada Post thanked Canadians for their patience during recent weeks as the organization managed significant holiday volumes while restoring normal operations.
“While we’ve stabilized our operations and taken care of the parcels in our network, we continue to work through higher volumes of mail,” Canada Post stated.
MAIL DELAYS PERSIST
Despite the improvements, Canada Post acknowledged ongoing delays for certain types of mail:
- Transaction Mail: Letters, bills, and statements are being processed alongside new volumes, resulting in delivery delays of several days beyond standard service timelines.
- Neighbourhood Mail: Business customers can also expect several days of delays for these items, which remain in the processing pipeline.
- International Mail: Incoming international items are being processed at a steady pace, but delivery delays of several days are still anticipated.
According to the press release, Canada Post assured Canadians and businesses that it is committed to transparency about its progress and encouraged customers to check canadapost.ca for updates.
