Boston 2026 releases second bulletin with key details on exhibitions

The organizers of the Boston 2026 World Expo have released the second bulletin for the upcoming international philatelic exhibition, providing key details about the show, including exhibit rules and registration.

The 44-page document is now available in electronic format on the show’s website, boston2026.org.

Thomas M. Fortunato, Boston 2026 public relations chair, emphasized the significance of the bulletin, which includes the official IREX (Individual Regulations for Exhibitions) approved by the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP). “The FIP’s recognition underscores the international importance of Boston 2026, and Bulletin Number Two is an essential resource for exhibitors and attendees alike,” Fortunato said.

Boston 2026 will feature several exhibitions simultaneously, showcasing the world’s best philatelic collections. The main FIP Exhibition will include 4,000 frames of competitive exhibits judged for awards ranging from bronze to large gold medals. Literature Class entries will also compete for honours.

In addition, a Polar Salon will feature 200 frames of both competitive and non-competitive exhibits, while a German-American Salon will display 50 non-competitive frames. The annual APS Champion of Champions Competition will also be part of the event.

“Beyond the competitive exhibits, visitors can explore non-competitive displays, including a world-class Court of Honor, institutional collections, and other rare items,” Fortunato added.

The bulletin highlights that only electronic applications will be accepted for all exhibition types. Forms will be available online when the new Boston 2026 website launches in the coming weeks.

The document also includes a detailed timeline of deadlines, guidance for societies and postal administrations, and two topical articles focusing on Boston-area women and African Americans featured on stamps.

Boston 2026 World Expo will take place from May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Fortunato encouraged philatelists to visit the website for updates. “We’ll continue to share details through our website, email list, and social media channels,” he said.
