The British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS), a partner-level sponsor of CAPEX 22, has topped its $10,000 fundraising goal, which it will now match for a total donation of more than $20,000 for the upcoming international show slated for June 9-12 in Toronto.
With the member-donation program complete, society officials will now focus on other CAPEX 22 activities, according to BNAPS President Ron Majors.
“For example, there will be a ‘BNAPS Room’ that will be used each day for specific seminars, mostly educational, for two hours each day,” Majors said, confirming eight hours of seminars to be held throughout the four-day show. BNAPS will announce its full speaker program in the coming weeks.
In addition to hosting seminars and staffing a bourse booth, BNAPS will also host three book launches from its “very active” books department, Majors added.
“A big activity will be a BNAPS reception on the first evening of CAPEX 22. It will celebrate one of the first chances for our members to have some face-to-face interaction, something missing in the COVID period.”
The society will host its reception near the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the CAPEX 22 venue.
“No speeches – just refreshments, hors d’oeuvre and a chance for some camaraderie.”
