The British Empire Study Group (BESG) continues its free webinar program later this week with a pair of separate programs on June 15.
The BESG will first host “A Talk with the Michel Team” at noon (ET), diving into the German-speaking world’s largest and best-known stamp catalogue, launched in 1910, with long-time editorial team member Sigward Pohl sharing hidden codes on British stamps.
A second presentation, coming at 6 p.m. (ET), will see philatelist Fernando Martínez continue the debate surrounding well-known Italian stamp forger Jean Sperati, who iconic philatelist Robson Lowe considered an artist.
All BESG programs offer optional computer-aided close captioning for viewers who prefer to watch programs with captioning. The group offers closed captions in many languages; while the presenters will speak in English, the closed captions can translate the talk into Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian or Ukrainian.
The webinar program remains open to everyone at no cost. Membership in the BESG is free but never required to attend.
