For the first time in its 14-year history, the Postal History Symposium held south of the border is going virtual.
Originally scheduled for two days, this year’s symposium will now be held on Oct. 26-30 under the theme “Postal Innovation of the Classic Era: Evolution Leading to Modernization.” More than a dozen speakers, including past “Champion of Champions” winners, are set to lead presentations related to classic-era postal innovation.
The biennial event provides a forum for philatelists, postal historians and academic scholars to discuss and present research through presentations and exhibits that integrate philately or the history of postal operations into the broader context of world history.
Since 2006, the symposium has been a joint effort of the American Philatelic Society, the American Philatelic Research Library and the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.
This year, the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society is also a sponsor.
