Americover 2017 coming to Independence, Ohio

The theme of Americover 2017, the 62nd annual convention and exhibition of the American First Day Cover Society (AFDCS), is “Ohio’s Halls of Fame.”

The three-day event will be held later this week, on Aug. 11-13, at the Embassy Suites in Independence, Ohio, which is less than a three-hour drive from Windsor, Ont. and just a bit more than a three-hour drive from Fort Erie, Ont.

In conjunction with the show theme, the show cachet and special postmarks will feature the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, the Aviation Hall of Fame in Dayton, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. The postmark designs, shown below, will differ each day.

The cachet as well as all three postmarks shown above were created by Paul Johnson, who designed the AFDCS Court of Honor cover in 2014.

A set of three show covers and an Azulillo stamped card first-day cover  will be available at the show for $10.

Convention covers are also available online. For more information or to make a purchase, click here.
