The American First Day Cover Society (AFDCS) has launched a YouTube channel to host its various first-day cover (FDC) presentations.
“In our mission to serve first-day cover collectors, this is an exciting and important step forward in serving our members and attracting non-members to the society,” said Michael Lake, the AFDCS education department chair. “Posting replays of our successful Zoom presentations and interactions is only the beginning.”
The most recent presentation, hosted by Henry Scheuer on Jan. 27, highlights U.S. FDCs to foreign destinations and their rates, routes and markings. In addition to its educational activities, the AFDCS produces FDCs for selected issues, holds several auctions a year, publishes a free directory of current cachetmakers and runs an annual cachetmaking contest.
The society also co-hosts the annual Great American Stamp Show, which this year will be held from Aug. 25-28 in Sacramento, Calif. To view the AFDCS YouTube channel, visit bit.ly/3v3VtCU.
