Two presentations made by the British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS) Admiral Study Group are now available for free online.
The first – a review of the study group’s Aug. 30 meeting chaired by Leopold Beaudet – includes recent “queries, discovered and curiosities,” including re-entries on the two-, 10- and 50-cent Admiral stamps; a major plate flaw on the five-cent Admiral; a scarce pre-cancel on the 20-cent Admiral; plus two covers with rate problems.

LASER ANALYSIS
The second seminar, this by award-winning exhibitor Richard Judge, offers a diode laser analysis of the two-cent Admiral’s carmine ink.
Through a statistical analysis of the resolved emission spectra of 78 plate blocks over the full production period, Judge confirms a “major partitioning” of shades.
