A special cancellation promoting BNAPEX 2018, the 70th annual convention of the British North America Philatelic Society since the inaugural show in 1949, has been designed by François Brisse.
It will be used exclusively at the Old Québec post office on 5 Rue du Fort in Québec, Qué. The cancellation highlights the 100th anniversary of the 1918 First World War armistice; the 100th anniversary of Canada’s first official postal flight; and the 100th anniversary of the enactment of The Act to Confer the Electoral Franchise upon Women, which gave Canadian women the right to vote in federal elections.
Four other special cancellations as well as personalized stamps will also be available at the upcoming convention, which will be held Sept. 21-23 at Hôtel Plaza Québec, only about a 15-minute drive from the Old Québec post office.
