RIP Bob Dyer, BNAPS OTB

Members of the British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS) are mourning the death of a prominent member from Petaluma, Calif.

Norris “Bob” Dyer, who was inducted to the society’s fellowship, the Order of the Beaver, in 2008, died suddenly on April 3. He was chair of the Newfoundland Study Group and editor of its newsletter, Newfie News, for many years and also co-ordinated the BNAPS Youth Program from 2005-12. He also served as the society’s vice-president from 2010-12 and president from 2012-14.

BNAPS EXHIBIT AWARDS

BNAPS lists the awards won by its members for British North America exhibits and literature to acknowledge their efforts and success. The listing covers national exhibitions in Canada and the U.S. as well as international exhibitions sponsored by the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP).

Dyer compiled the listing from 2001-14; however, BNAPS member Adri Veenstra recently volunteered to continue where he left off, and has compiled award winners for the first three months of 2015.

Veenstra is a director as well as member recognition co-ordinator for BNAPS.
